VHF was originally formed in London in 1985, after the New Wave of British Heavy Metal faded. Their first line up included Bill Muldowney and Paul Lewis on guitars, Shaun "Bill" Elliot on bass, Neil Richards on drums and Derek Lyon on vocals. During their short but intense career, VHF recorded a series of powerful demos, including the much sought-after Heartbeat City, capturing the band’s dynamic twin-guitar attack, strong melodic hooks and the unmistakable spirit of mid-80s British Heavy Metal. Heartbeat City Anthology includes a 6-page booklet with rare photos and a detailed band biography. This is another gem from the 80s that never got the recognition it deserved — a solid sound and great musicians who came close to what could have been a truly great career.
