Foreign Tongues, the Rolling Stones’ new studio album, features 14 tracks and arrives less than three years after its award-winning predecessor, Hackney Diamonds, which topped charts worldwide and went platinum multiple times. The album opens with the upbeat and catchy lead single “In The Stars.” Foreign Tongues was recorded in just one month at Metropolis Studios in West London, where Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood once again collaborated with Grammy-winning producer Andrew Watt. The result is a dynamic, contemporary album that captures the band’s signature sound while introducing new sonic and lyrical elements.
In addition to the central contributions from Jagger, Richards, and Wood, longtime musical collaborators such as Darryl Jones, Matt Clifford, and Steve Jordan are also featured on the album. Furthermore, the album includes a special contribution from Charlie Watts, recorded during one of his final sessions before his death in 2021. The project is rounded out by guest appearances from Steve Winwood, Paul McCartney, Robert Smith, and Chad Smith, among others.
