Queen collaborated with Reinhold Mack for the first time on *The Game*. At his Musicland Studios in Munich, the music producer reinvented the band’s sound. Queen sounds more polished here than before and delivers a bold pop album. Mack, who also worked as a sound engineer for the Electric Light Orchestra, introduced Mercury and his bandmates to new recording techniques. On *The Game*, Queen used a synthesizer (Oberheim OBX) for the first time, albeit sparingly. “Another One Bites the Dust” and “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” became worldwide hits.
