Description

Pink Floyd Music, double 180g black vinyl, "Ummagumma" is the fourth long player of Pink Floyd. Originally, the record was already released in October 1969. This is also the band's first double album, consisting of a live and a studio part. The live recordings were made at two concerts at the College of Commerce in Manchester and and at the Mother's Club in Cambridge. During the recording of the studio part, Pink Floyd adopted a not-so-common approach. Each of the four band members had a quarter of the LP at their disposal for their own recordings. This resulted in Roger Waters' folk ballad "Grantchester Meadows" or Gilmour's three-part psychedelic rock piece "The Narrow Way", among others. The recordings for "Ummagumma" took place at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London. As with their first two albums, Norman Smith, who also worked as a sound engineer for the Beatles, sat at the mixing desk.
