“F.M.M.S.” is PARAGON BELIAL’s fourth full-length album — and a brutal lesson in raw, uncompromising black metal, with strong war metal tendencies that set the fires of hell ablaze!
PARAGON BELIAL, whose eventful history dates back to 1993, are now harsher and more brutal than ever before — with a vehemence reminiscent of bands like Archgoat or Gravesend. On an unholy track like “Blood Sacrifice,” they incorporate elements of death and thrash metal to achieve maximum impact, delving deep into the earliest roots of extreme metal in the 1980s.
PARAGON BELIAL were named after the Darkthrone song of the same name. Founded by Andras Necropest (alias Andreas Classen) after parting ways with the dark metal institution Bethlehem, the band from North Rhine-Westphalia first drew attention in 1995 with their debut Hordes Of The Darklands, released on Folter Records — which many consider one of the most significant releases in the Teutonic black metal underground.
Andras, who has also been a vocalist for Shining and involved with bands such as Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult, remains the driving force behind PARAGON BELIAL.
After PARAGON BELIAL had been largely on hiatus due to creative differences, the original lineup — Andras, Zahgurim, and Ralph — reunited in 2007, resulting in their second album, Nosferathu Sathanis (2008), which proved highly successful. A tour across Germany, the Netherlands, France, and Austria followed.
After years of lineup changes — including a stint by current Marduk drummer Bloodhammer (aka Simon) — André Müller, alias Rhabbazz, joined as the new drummer in 2014, with Thyrannoizer taking over on guitar in 2015. This lineup recorded the third studio album, Necrophobic Rituals, released in fall 2017, and later went on to unleash F.M.M.S., originally released on vinyl in 2025 via Schattenpfade – and now finally available on CD through Folter Records.
This stable lineup — Andras, Thyrannoizer, and Rhabbazz — has remained unchanged for a decade now, allowing the band to focus entirely on new material that embodies PARAGON BELIAL more than ever: F.M.M.S. is raw, honest, and brutally uncompromising metal. The album closes with “Midnight Queen,” a tribute to Brazilian extreme metal pioneers Sarcófago.
Hail to the blasphemous Goatking!
