Lords of Quarmall and Power Castle team up for a split to showcase their indelible brand of fantasy and riff-laden classic metal! Their path may have been entirely different, but two of Olympia, Washington’s finest have partnered for a split to showcase the city’s unique take on metal. While the primary constituents of Lords of Quarmall and Power Castle have a shared history in underground heroes Christian Mistress, their respective brands of traditional, epic metal make for a split that offers a taste of both bands’ vast capabilities and thorough, unflinching grip on classic metal. Lords of Quarmall was formed in December 2020 by Vision Master and Christian Mistress drummer Reuben Storey, who quickly assembled six songs for what would become the Iron Exile EP. Released in February 2021, the EP promptly sold out; hence, its inclusion on this split courtesy of Gates of Hell, also the label home to Vision Master. Lords of Quarmall occupies the illustrious but elusive metallic sphere ushered in by Brocas Helm and Slough Feg — intellectual, high-concept fantasy metal with multi-faceted riffs and a preponderance of dueling guitar melodies, aided by Storey’s gruff vocal delivery.
