Description

Swan Song, 180g black vinyl. remastered, "In Through The Out Door" reached the top of the album charts in the U.S. and U.K. on the day of its release and has since gone platinum six times. The eighth studio album was unfortunately the last Led Zeppelin album before the death of John Bonham. Among the seven tracks are also "Fool In The Rain" and "All My Love", both still classics on any rock radio today. John Paul Jones and Robert Plant took over the work in Stockholm's Polar Studios almost alone. Jimmy Page and John Bonham were in personal crises. On "Presence" no keyboard had been heard at that time. On "In Through The Out Door" Jones' experiments with his new Roland synthesizer provided completely new sounds. The title "In Through The Out Door" was generally interpreted in fan circles to mean that Led Zeppelin, as rock dinos in times of the burgeoning punk movement, only reach the big stage via detours. "Fool in the Rain" with "Hot Dog" on the B-side remained the only single release from the album. While Robert Plant was on tour with Led Zeppelin in 1977, his son Karac died of a viral infection at the age of five. Plant dedicated the song "All My Love" to him. Led Zeppelin once again caused a sensation in 1979 with their cover art. "In Through The Out Door" had six different inside cover variations. A bar was photographed in each case from the point of view of one of the people present. Moistened with water, the inside cover of some copies could also be discolored. The following items already convinced buyers of the first six Led Zeppelin reissues The companion disc of the deluxe edition of "In Through The Out Door" contains unreleased raw mixes of every song from the original album, including early versions with working titles like "The Hook" ("All My Love"), "The Epic" ("Carouselambra") or "Blot" ("I'm Gonna Crawl"). "In Through The Out Door" was to be the last album where all four members were still in the studio in the flesh. The remastering and the previously unreleased raw mixes also make the 2015 reissue of "In Through The Out Door" indispensable for every fan.
