Hellven Classics, jewelcase, limited edition
Formed in the mid-eighties, Gypsy Roadhog began when bass player Danny Clarke teamed up with guitarist Andy Sutton, later joined by Don Threlfall, Chris Rimmer, and vocalist Keith Sumner to complete the classic lineup. The band quickly made their mark on the local rock scene, recording a three-track demo at Preston’s legendary Countdown Studios — including the now-lost “Rock n’ Roll Soldier.” Recently, a rare live recording from 1982 at the Fox Lane Cricket Club in Leyland was rediscovered, featuring that track along with four others from the Double Dealer album. These five songs have been carefully remastered and added as bonus live tracks on this special CD edition, which also includes a 12-page booklet featuring the band’s biography and previously unseen photos. This release celebrates the legacy of a group that went on to win the prestigious Battle of the Bands at Preston’s iconic Clouds nightclub.
