Vic Records, Atrophy, originally named Heresy, was formed in 1986 by Chris Lykins, James Gulotta, and Brian Zimmerman. Tim Kelly and Rick Skowron later joined the band. In 1987, the band recorded their debut 6 track demo ‘Chemical Dependency’. After the demo release ATROPHY was picked up by thrash metal label, Roadrunner Records. Atrophy released two albums, ‘Socialized Hate’ in 1988 and ‘Violent By Nature’ in 1990. Atrophy toured the U.S. and Europe with fellow Arizonans Sacred Reich and Coroner from Switzerland. The ‘Chemical Dependency; demo is now for the first time officially re-issued on cd including 4 bonus tracks, recorded live in Toronto, Canada 1989.
