Let's begin this short essay with a confident thesis: In the long, successful career of the German band Rage, there has probably never been an album that reflects the positive spirit among the musicians involved, their joy in playing, their creativity, and optimism to such an extent as 'A New World Rising'. Almost two years after its rather dystopian predecessor 'Afterlifelines', Peavy Wagner (vocals, bass), Jean Bormann (guitar), and Vassilios "Lucky" Maniatopoulos (drums) unleash a positive, ultra-heavy thrash metal firework that combines the typical Rage sound with modern elements and, as a whole, represents the band's most diverse work to date. "This applies not only to us, but to all people: We must escape the destructive mindset that is currently prevalent everywhere. Many think the world is coming to an end, everything is being criticized, and some of it is even deliberately orchestrated, because fear makes it easier to control people. That's why our message is: Think for yourself! And don't believe everything you're told!" explains band founder Peavy Wagner, describing the overall tone of 'A New World Rising'.
