A lost gem from Germany!! Heavy/Power/Speed Metal with that so typical German sound from those wonderful years!!
In 1980s Frankfurt, four musicians were each making their mark in very different bands: Mario (guitar, hard rock band "Death"), Achim (bass) and Chris (drums) of soft rock outfit "Unicorn," and Michael (guitar) in blues rock band "Megawatz." Though Achim, Chris and Mario lived very near, they didn't join forces until 1983, drawn together by Mario's heavier style. When their original singer departed, Achim, Chris and Mario founded METOWER (METAL and POWER) in September 1985. Michael completed the lineup that December as second guitarist and singer.
Determined to avoid the recycled sound heard at every newcomer contest, METOWER forged their own path - "Metal with Power, Melody and Class" - blending melodic epics like "Atlantis" and speed anthems like "Lost Empire". This vision produced four demo tapes between 1987 and 1989: Lost Empire, Monarch Of Terror, Ancient Tales, and Triangula De La Muerte, all met with enthusiastic reviews.
The band split in the early '90s, but their bond endured. Mario now runs a music bar in Spain; Michael and Chris became professional musicians in Frankfurt. Above all - they're still friends today.
